Impressive Plate Featuring Orange Orpiment

Impressive cabinet sized plate featuring orange Orpiment clusters over colorless Barite crystals!

This is a great looking specimen and almost takes on the appearance of a botryoidal Orpiment. The rounded surfaces are actually dozens of small Orpiment clusters that leave enough small gaps to display the Barite crystals that lay beneath, atop the host matrix. In very good condition, especially considering the softness of Orpiment. There are a few tiny contacts but none detract from the plate.

From the Quiruvilca District, Santiago de Chuco Province, La Libertad Department, Peru.
Measures 11 cm by 13.5 cm by 2.8 cm in total size.
