This Fluorite on Quartz specimen is a beautiful combination of two well-known minerals.

Fluorite (CaF₂)

Crystal System: Isometric (cubic)
Hardness: 4 (relatively soft, can be scratched by a knife)
Lustre: Vitreous (glass-like) to dull
Color: Often purple, green, blue, yellow, or colorless (varies due to impurities)
Notable Properties: Fluoresces under UV light, perfect cleavage in four directions

Quartz (SiO₂)

Crystal System: Hexagonal (trigonal)
Hardness: 7 (much harder than fluorite)
Lustre: Vitreous
Color: Typically clear, white, or smoky

Locality: Le Beix, Bourboule, France

This area is known for producing high-quality fluorite specimens, often associated with quartz.
